Rick Waters is Managing Director for China at Eurasia Group and a Non-Resident Honorary Senior Fellow at the Asia Society Policy Institute's Center for China Analysis. Mr. Waters was the top China policy official in the U.S. State Department, where he most recently served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Biden administration. During this time, he oversaw the creation of the Office of China Coordination, also known as China House. Mr. Waters speaks Mandarin, Arabic, and Spanish, and was director for Israel, Palestine, Egypt, and Jordan at the National Security Council under President George W. Bush.
